24 & 25 Weeks - Merry Christmas, A Trip to Phoenix, and a Baby Shower

How far along? The first set of pictures is from 24 weeks, the second from 25 weeks. Currently I am at 27 weeks, and there is no belly picture for that yet ... hopefully later this week. Clearly I am WAY behind now, and my excuses are as follows: preparing for Christmas, celebrating Christmas, being out of town, coming back home and cleaning up Christmas stuff, and getting/recovering from the flu. True story. Maybe more prompt, consistent blogging can be a New Year's resolution ...?

Symptoms? Frequent bathroom visits and slight to moderate cramping/minor abdominal aches, which became borderline severe while recovering from the flu. Side note - I give MAJOR props to women who get really bad morning sickness at any point during their pregnancy, and especially to those women who are sick throughout their entire pregnancy. I vomited pretty heavily the other day - 3 separate times - and I felt like I got hit by a semi. My body felt like I had done the Jillian Michaels Ab Shredding workout a bunch of times while being nearly 7 months pregnant ... I was sore no matter what position I was in. I'm better now, but seriously. I don't know how you women throw up all the time and function! You're my heroes, all of you.
Total weight gain/loss: Let's see, at 24 weeks I was at 148 - up 15 lbs., and at 25 weeks, I hit 150 - up 17 lbs. total. (Looking at the size of my legit baby belly at this point and realizing that this was about how much weight I gained when I moved away for college makes me feel ashamed. There was just no excuse for that food baby.)
Maternity clothes? Love my stretchy jeans and my long, striped sweaters right now. Warm, comfy, and they show off the belly. :)
Food cravings: Chocolate milk, cereal, assorted Christmas cookies, orange juice, asparagus, spicy tuna rolls (STILL can't have those yet??), Trader Joe's cinnamon swirl bread (Ah-MAzing!!), and before I got the flu, I was craving a really delicious steak. Maybe after my appetite is all the way back ...
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yes, the flu! First time vomiting during the pregnancy ... first time vomiting for any reason in a very long time.
Stretch marks? Still nothin'!
Sleep: Not great ... lots of abdominal pain, and the positions I find comfy Scarlett doesn't seem to like much because that's when she starts her in utero kickboxing sessions.
Best moment this week: Best moment over the last few weeks was definitely my baby shower in Arizona - so special and perfect! Honorable mentions include: watching and listening to my nephews John and Austin talk to their cousin in my belly (hilarious and precious!), letting my family and friends see my real pregnant belly in person for the first time, my mom feeling Scarlett kick for the first time, and more that I'm sure I'm just forgetting. Christmastime was awesome.
Have you told family and friends: All that's left to find out is what she looks like and how big she is when she's born :)
Miss Anything? The usuals ... but over the holidays, I missed our Wuollet family tradition on Christmas - Brandy Slush - and champagne on New Year's Eve.
Movement: Kicks, kicks, and more kicks! I can tell she is growing so fast in there.
Belly size: Belly pics from the end of December - Steve would want me to include the "artsy" tilted pic. He's so weird. Enjoy!

Labor Signs: Nope!
Belly Button in or out? Innie that is sort of ... how do I describe it? Flattening out? It's weird, but my belly button is starting to get smaller ... still definitely an innie, though.
Wedding rings on or off? Both rings are comfortably on.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy 95% of the time, with a 5% dash of hormonal. That's not too bad, right??
Baby Stuff Purchased? Thanks to some AMAZING, sweet, generous family and friends, we left AZ with a giant duffel bag full of clothes and baby items that Scarlett really needed, which was an awesome start! We also just got a package from Scarlett's friend London and her mom Liz from New York that was full of cute hand-me-downs. This little girl is so blessed already. We still have to purchase some big items, like furniture for her nursery, a stroller, carseat, etc. Here is the crib, bedding (I changed my mind and am opting for something just as cute and WAY more affordable than what I found on Etsy), and changing table/dresser I am planning on ordering:

Looking forward to: Setting up her nursery with all this cute stuff I am finding! Yes!!
